Tamara De Lempicka

One of my favourite artists is Tamara De Lempicka; I was first introduced to her work last year and immediately fell in love with it. Lempicka was one of the most fashionable portrait painters in Paris during the interwar period. I adore the depictions of her glamorous and ostentatious lifestyle and the way in which she idolises the beauty and elegance of her patrons. I find her portraits distinct and electrifying. I feel that Art too, can inspire me through this course. As well as looking at old photographs and reconstructed documents of past eras, I will look at the work of Lempicka also as she portrays the style and etiquette of women from the 1930’s so endearingly.
